Tactile Blueprints

Shelby Meyers is a landscape designer fascinated by the patterns created when humans meet the land. She works to expose the natural systems that are repeated and repeated so to create perfect forms. Her studies in cartography, ecology, and garden design have demonstrated that beauty emerges when the human is able to intimately listen and respond to landscape systems and patterns.

Recently, Meyers’ interests have shifted toward smaller-scale landscape patterns inherent in textiles. She perceives woven materials as a tactile, human-scale natural system, one of which we get remarkable control of the micro-landscape’s inputs and outputs. ‘Tactile Blueprints’ is a series that reveals these soft relationships.
