Nasty Women

Emma Haskins: "My work is an exploration and reconstructing of the interior of the domestic space. The bathroom in particular is an environment I’ve been thinking about, distorting the familiar and sculpting the uncanny. Using objects I encounter in my everyday life is one way I find my materials. This piece for instance is the reconstruction of a bathtub made of plaster, chicken wire, and paper. It is leaning against precariously balanced wood that is painted with house paint and decorated with a soft color grade. Re-envisioning a space so well known and altering that reality is a key component in my work
